Hidden Gem: Lecce, Italy
Updated: Jan 10, 2019
I have a confession to make, I wasn't familiar with the magical city of Lecce prior to my trip. However, upon arrival I was in love with all of its beauty and charm. Located in the Puglia region of Italy, it's not only a wonderful destination but a fantastic base for day trips to places such as Brindsi, Barri, and Gallipoli.
During my stay, I was fortunate enough to stay at the gorgeous La Fiermontina Urban Resort located in the heart of the old city. The property is an Italian dream come true with everything you need located on the premises. Not to mention, the pool area is the perfect place to start your day of adventures. The staff at La Fiermontina was extremely welcoming and willing to help with anything. I would definitely suggest staying in the old town as it has everything you need within its walls.
The triumphal arc marks the entrance to the magical old town where I spend most of my time during my visit. The streets are buzzing with small shops and restaurants to keep you busy for days. During the nights, the streets are filled with people from all ages having drinks with friends and loved ones. The vibe felt very inclusive and was something that I wish I could of experienced more. However, due to personal commitments my time here was limited. I am looking forward to returning soon and getting to explore more of this charming hidden gem in Italy soon.
