New Years in Veracruz, Panama

Just a few miles from the heart of Panama is the jewel of Veracruz. An incredibly charming beach town with just less than 20,000 habitants. I must confess that after a week of exploring the busy streets of Panama City, it was the perfect getaway & destination for us to ring the new year at.

To get to Playa Veracruz, we opted for an Uber from Panama City which only took around 20 minutes and was surprisingly affordable. Our first stop was The Westin Playa Bonita, where we decided to stay. If you are looking to stay overnight after visiting the beach, I would recommend looking at this hotel.

While it's completely secluded from any city life, the Westin has everything you need on-site. From daily activities such as pool zumba (honestly this was a highlight) to endless food options with six restaurants on the premises. And did I mention three infinity pools? Oh yes, there is even a bar in the pool. Honestly, it's such a perfect place to unwind and just relax with your loved ones.

However, if resting is not really your thing - just a few minutes away you'll find one of my favorite places, Panorama Veracruz. The most adorable beach front bar with not only incredible service but delicious food and cocktails. My highlight was getting a piña colada in an actual pineapple. It was everything I wanted - my Caribbean dream come true! To top it off, it's possibly one of the most Instagrammable places I've ever visited. Every wall is just so cute and different from the other one that you'll be taking photos for hours.

We loved our experience at Panorama Veracruz so much that we ended up opting to celebrate the new year with them and it was the perfect decision. With a four-course dinner, open bar, live band, and fireworks over the ocean - really couldn't think of a better way to start the new year.
